PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, led a joint roll call which was combined with the release of students from the Community Service Program (KKN) of the Indonesian Education University (UPI) in Garut Regency which was held at the Regional Secretariat (Setda) Field of Garut Regency, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Monday (14/9/2026).

In his address, the Regent of Garut expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the UPI academic community who had sent their students to help improve the quality of education in Garut Regency.

Syakur revealed that several indicators of educational quality processes and achievements in Garut Regency still require serious attention and improvement. Evaluations show that student literacy and numeracy skills at both elementary and junior high schools remain below average.

"Therefore, we strongly encourage various collaborative efforts to strengthen and improve the quality of education in Garut Regency," the Regent emphasized.

He hopes that through this KKN program, the presence of UPI students in the community can have a positive impact, especially in providing understanding and educating residents about the importance of education for the future of the young generation in Garut Regency.
