PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin stated that the increase in hotel and restaurant taxes will be returned to the community through infrastructure development, (6/8/2026).

This statement was made while attending the Coordination Meeting on Increasing Potential Regional Original Income (PAD) at the Garut Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Office.

Abdusy Syakur Amin highlighted the potential for regional revenue from hotel and restaurant taxes as tourist visits to various destinations in Garut Regency increase.

"The proceeds from this increase in local revenue (PAD) will be returned to the community and businesses. We will repair roads and install streetlights to ensure accessibility to tourist attractions," said Abdusy Syakur Amin.

The construction of roads, lighting, and supporting infrastructure leading to tourist areas is expected to facilitate tourist mobility and support the community's economic activities.

Abdusy Syakur Amin also appealed to taxpayers to increase their awareness and compliance in fulfilling their tax obligations in accordance with applicable regulations.

"This development is largely funded by public taxes. Therefore, we must be careful, proportional, and fair," he stressed.

Community tax contributions are one source of development financing, the benefits of which are felt through the provision of regional infrastructure.
