PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, paid a courtesy visit and coordinated with the Agrarian and Spatial Planning Office/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) of Garut Regency on Jalan Suherman, Tarogong Kaler District, Thursday (19/2/2026).

This visit aims to accelerate the inventory and legalization of assets belonging to the Garut Regency Government (Pemkab) and village government assets.

The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, appreciated the support of the Garut ATR/BPN which has submitted 401 land certificates as a form of legal certainty of regional asset ownership.

"Furthermore, there are several assets that we need to tidy up. These assets are scattered in various locations, and we discussed their history earlier, especially since there are several stages the BPN must complete before certification," he said.

In addition to district assets, the Regent also highlighted the importance of structuring asset administration at the village level, which is considered to still require improvements in format and data collection.

"What's equally important is that we try to inventory the assets owned by the village. The village also has the same responsibility regarding its assets, because we also see that village assets are still not well-administered and formatted," he continued.

He added that the certification process for other remaining assets would continue to be intensively communicated. However, he emphasized the need for caution, especially regarding land that has long been occupied by the community.

"Because everything requires careful consideration, there are several locations that have been occupied by the community, and we also have to be careful in conveying this information," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Garut ATR/BPN, Eko Suharno, explained that the 401 certificates that had been handed over were the result of achieving the 2025 target which covered various public facilities.

"(The 401) are for schools, public facilities, roads, and everything. And the data will be available in 2026 according to the regional government's proposal," Eko explained.

Through this synergy, the Garut Regency Government hopes that all regional assets, both in the northern and southern regions, can be promptly and properly administered to avoid future land disputes. (Garut Communications and Information Service/rka)
