PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, led the Meeting to Determine the Amount of Authorized Capital of the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tirta Intan Garut Drinking Water which was held in the Meeting Room of the Garut Regent's Office, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Tuesday (14/7/2026).

Abdusy Syakur Amin stated that determining the authorized capital amount is a government mandate, and every relevant Regional Regulation (Perda) must clearly state this figure. He believes this authorized capital plays a vital role and serves as the financial foundation for meeting various PDAM operational targets.

The Regent further emphasized that this effort is part of the Garut Regency Government's (Pemkab) commitment to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the clean water sector. Therefore, this capital allocation is not merely a formality, but rather the result of long-term projections of work programs and targets through 2037.

"We have created a program, so that's where the capital is needed," said the Garut Regent.

The Regent explained that Garut Regency has a target to achieve the Drinking Water Supply System Master Plan (RISPAM), which it is attempting to achieve through this capital support. The amount of capital required will be adjusted based on the region's financial capacity.

In addition to relying on regional capabilities, the Garut Regency Government is also seeking funding opportunities from other sources to accelerate the development of clean water infrastructure.

"We are actually pushing for ways to obtain grant assistance from the provincial government," he added.

He also added that this meeting was still in the initial discussion stage and there would be a follow-up meeting before the amount of authorized capital for PDAM Tirta Intan was officially finalized.

Meanwhile, Dadan Hidayatulloh, President Director of the Tirta Intan Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Garut, who also attended the meeting, stated that his company continues to strive to expand its service reach to the community. Currently, PDAM Tirta Intan is targeting the addition of approximately 7,000 new customer household connections (SR) in Garut Regency, in order to reach the total target of 70,000 connections.
