PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Regent of Garut, Abdusy Syakur Amin, led a joint roll call at the Regional Secretariat Field, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, Monday (31/8/2026).

On this occasion, the Regent submitted an Excerpt of the Decree (SK) for Promotion of Civil Servants and Dismissal of Civil Servants who have reached Retirement Age for the Period of September 2026 within the Garut Regency Government.

The Regent of Garut stated that the handover of the promotion decree was a form of appreciation and recognition for the dedication of ASN in carrying out government duties.

"This is a tribute from the government, showing appreciation for what has been done so far. Of course, there are shortcomings and mistakes, but I ask that you use this as motivation and an initiative to continue improving the quality of service to the public," said the Garut Regent.

To the civil servants who are entering retirement, Abdusy Syakur expressed his appreciation for the dedication, sacrifice and loyalty they have given during their active service.

"Therefore, my friends, thank you for all your dedication, sacrifices, and loyalty to the community. May your good deeds be rewarded in the future," he continued.

In addition to the handover of the ASN Decree, the Joint Roll Call agenda was combined with the pinning of the Darma Bakti Badge from the National Scout Headquarters (Kwarnas) to the Regent of Garut as Chair of the Branch Advisory Council (Mabicab) of the Garut Scout Movement.

Responding to the award, the Regent of Garut emphasized the importance of the role of the Scout Movement in shaping the character, independence, and life skills of the younger generation amidst the current of modernization.

"So, I am the one who encourages Scouts to be active and also entrust this to the sub-district heads present, please encourage Scouting in your respective sub-districts," said the Garut Regent.

He expressed concern about the threat of the younger generation's dependence on easy technological facilities, which could erode mental resilience. He believed the Scout Movement was a strategic platform for developing soft skills, including discipline, tenacity, loyalty, and integrity.

"Being independent doesn't mean we have to follow traditional, conventional methods—not necessarily. Rather, we need to develop resilience, independence, tenacity, seriousness, discipline, and loyalty. These are the soft skills our children must possess," said Abdusy Syakur Amin.
