PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent, Abdusy Syakur Amin, directly reviewed the 1446 H homecoming flow services in the northern part of Garut on Sunday (30/3/2025). During the visit accompanied by Regional Secretary Nurdin Yana, and the heads of related agencies, the regent visited a number of strategic locations, including Wanaraja Station, GTC Limbangan Integrated Post, and Kadungora Security Post.

The Regent emphasized that the homecoming flow service is the responsibility of the regional government to ensure the comfort of travelers who want to visit their families in their hometowns.

"This is an annual event, where our citizens who have struggled abroad want to meet their families. It is our obligation to ensure their journey is comfortable," said the Regent while reviewing the Kadungora Security Post.

Garut Regency Government Preparations to Welcome Homecoming Flow
The Garut Regency Government has made various preparations to welcome this year's homecoming flow. Various infrastructures such as roads and bridges have been repaired, street lights have been installed, and facilities such as rest areas and health posts have been provided to support the needs of homecoming travelers.

"Once we enter Garut, we want everything to be enjoyable, with smooth roads and several supporting facilities. Because we know that they come from quite far away, so we have prepared a rest area so they can rest and also have their health checked," explained Abdusy Syakur.

The Regent of Garut also appreciated the cooperation between various government elements and security forces that have played a role in maintaining the smooth flow of homecoming. He assessed that in general, the flow of homecoming this year went smoothly and under control. He also highlighted the effectiveness of government policies related to the long holiday schedule and the implementation of work from anywhere which helped reduce traffic congestion.

"Maybe there will be a change in the schedule again, so I was surprised that it was relatively empty at this time. That might also be because we have also socialized it, the government has a good policy, the holiday break is long, and there is also work from anywhere," he said.

Focus Ahead of Return Flow
Ahead of the return flow, the Regent ensured that all facilities and services that have been provided will be maintained. He also highlighted the importance of rail transportation in reducing the burden on highways and hoped that PT KAI could increase the frequency of train trips in the future.

"In the future, I hope PT KAI can increase the frequency of train trips so that public transportation becomes more comfortable, cheap, and safe," he concluded.

As the closing of the monitoring series, the Regent of Garut reviewed the Guntur Melati Garut Type A Terminal. Based on the review on D-1 of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, the condition of the terminal was observed to be relatively quiet after the peak of the homecoming flow occurred several days earlier.
