PORTALJABAR, KARAWANG REGENCY - The Karawang Regency Government held a digital declaration of peace for the simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkades) at the Pemda Plaza on Wednesday (October 28, 2026). The event coincided with the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day.

In his remarks, the Regent of Karawang, H. Aep Syaepuloh, emphasized that Karawang Regency is entering a new era in the implementation of democracy at the village level, namely digital simultaneous village head elections.

"Karawang is standing on the threshold of a new chapter in our history, preparing to welcome a more modern, transparent, and accountable village-level democratic celebration through digital village head elections (Pilkada), which will be held on November 22, 2026," he said.

Ahead of the simultaneous digital village head elections, Aep invited the younger generation to take an active role in maintaining a healthy and conducive democratic climate.

"We call on and invite all young men and women in Karawang Regency to take an active role. Be pioneers of change, bulwarks of social control, and foster harmony within the community as the first step towards realizing a conducive democratic celebration," he urged.

As an initial step towards realizing a conducive democratic celebration, the peace declaration was attended by 200 village head candidates from 67 villages in 25 sub-districts throughout Karawang Regency.

"Today, we are holding a digital declaration of peace for the simultaneous village head elections in Karawang Regency. Today, 200 village head candidates from 67 villages and 25 sub-districts will declare their peace," he said.

On this occasion, all village head candidates committed to maintaining order, peace, and integrity during the digital simultaneous village head election process.
