PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The 112 Call Center service in Bandung City is a step forward in the emergency response system in this region. With the integration of emergency numbers and a decentralized approach, this service ensures that the public can receive emergency assistance.

The city of Bandung now has a 112 Call Center service that is ready to provide fast and efficient solutions for people facing emergency situations.

This 112 Emergency Call Number Service Program, which is managed by the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) with the support of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo), is present as part of an effort to improve response and coordination in handling emergencies in the Bandung City area.

Background and Launch
The 112 Call Center service was initiated in 2015 with a technical study that included network design and an audit by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

This study shows the importance of having a special emergency number that is easy for people to remember. The number 112 was chosen because it is the default emergency number on mobile phones in Indonesia and is in accordance with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standards.

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) independently implemented the Call Center 112, considering that emergency response units such as the Fire Department, BPBD, Health Service, Regional Public Hospital, Transportation Service, and Satpol PP are under regional administration. This allows for better coordination and faster response in emergency situations.

Before the number 112 existed, people had to remember various emergency numbers such as the Police (110), Fire Department (113), Basarnas (115), Ambulance/Ministry of Health (119), and BNPB (117). The presence of the 112 Call Center makes it easier for people because all these emergency services are integrated into one number.

Thus, Bandung City residents only need to remember one number, which is 112, for all types of emergencies. Calls to 112 are free and can still be made even if the phone is locked.

The implementation of the 112 Call Center is regulated in Permenkominfo 10/2016 concerning the Emergency Call Single Number Service and Decree of the Director General of PPI 112/2019 concerning Technical Guidelines for the Provision of the 112 Emergency Call Number Service.

This regulation ensures good coordination between the central government, local governments, and telecommunications operators.

For the public, just remember one number, namely 112, for all types of emergencies.
