PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - Ciamis Regent Herdiat Sunarya led the Clean Friday Movement to prevent a garbage emergency and maintain environmental cleanliness.

The movement involved state civil servants (ASN), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and regional apparatus to clean public facilities.

Herdiat reminded that the cleanliness award won by Ciamis should be a stepping stone to building a culture of cleanliness within the community.

"We will carry out cleaning activities starting from personal environments, office areas, to public places together," he said to the participants of the roll call.

According to Herdiat, cleanliness needs to be maintained together so that Ciamis Regency remains safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful in accordance with the ASRI Indonesia Movement.

He asked ASN, TNI, and Polri to be role models by directly cleaning the environment and encouraging the community to maintain cleanliness.

After the roll call, participants were divided into eight main points to clean public facilities in the Ciamis urban area.

These locations include the west and east sides of Galuh Stadium, the GGT area, Ciamis Terminal, Subuh Market, and Manis Market.

The cleaning also targeted Jalan Letnan Samuji to the Jalan Rumah Sakit area to reduce the potential for waste generation.

Herdiat encouraged the public to start practicing cleanliness at home and utilize available waste management facilities.

Currently, Ciamis Regency has more than 280 waste banks that can be used by the community to manage waste.

Joint waste management is expected to keep the Ciamis environment clean and beautiful while preventing the waste problem from developing into an emergency.
