PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Bayongbong Sub-district Head Jeje Jenal Abidin attended the "Clean Friday, Planting Friday, and Community Fire Awareness Socialization" activities at Sungai Cimanuk School, Mulyasari Village, Bayongbong Sub-district, to educate the public to protect the environment and anticipate forest and land fires during the dry season (26/6/2026).

This collaborative activity encourages the community to maintain the cleanliness of river basins, plant trees, and increase awareness of potential fires.

Jeje Jenal Abidin appreciates the consistency of the Cimanuk River School Community in the Bayongbong Region in continuing to provide environmental education independently to the community.

"So, we from the government, including the Regent, the Deputy Regent, and the Regional Secretary, greatly appreciate the activities carried out by the Cimanuk River School community in the Bayongbong area. We hope this spirit can be maintained, remain consistent in providing education and setting an example for the community in Garut Regency," he said.

Yanto Rangkuti, Head of Sungai Cimanuk School in the Bayongbong Region, said the activity was an integrated campaign to address extreme weather that could potentially increase the risk of fires.

"So extreme weather is real, and we have to care about the community and remind each other," he said.

Yanto explained that the movement would be carried out routinely as an effort to build public awareness of environmental sustainability.

The activity closed with the distribution of aid to underprivileged children, mutual cooperation in cleaning the river basin, and planting tree seedlings with the community.
