PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemdakab) conducted a surprise inspection (Sidak) at Cibinong Market to maintain price stability and spikes in staple food prices ahead of New Year's Eve 2025, led directly by the Assistant for Economy and Development (Asekbang) of Bogor Regency Suryanto Putra representing the Acting Regent of Bogor, Tuesday (31/12/2024).
Some of the commodities that were the focus of the market inspections included rice, cayenne pepper, cooking oil, chicken, beef and chicken eggs.
Suryanto explained that today's activity is part of the work of the Bogor Regency Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID), one of which is maintaining price stability, so that inflation does not occur.
Because the condition of the price development index in Bogor Regency during Christmas and New Year (Nataru) continues to rise. Through this market inspection, he and the Bogor Regency TPID want to see and ensure the cause of the increase in the Price Development Index.
"Cibinong Market is indeed a market that is used as a sampling for the Price Development Index, information from the TPID meeting last Monday that in the field there was a price spike, especially for chicken eggs and broiler chickens experiencing a fairly high price spike. Through this activity we want to see what caused this price spike," he said.
Suryanto explained, in addition to market inspections, his party will also conduct checks on producers and distributors as an effort to stabilize the prices of basic necessities in Bogor Regency. Even if the prices do not go down, his party will use the Unexpected Expenditure (BTT) budget to subsidize the price increase.
"If it continues like this, we will think about using BTT funds to subsidize the price increase and we will discuss it again. If it does not go down, we will do that while checking with the distributor because if the traders are in this condition. We hope that the price will return to stability, inflation and the Price Development Index in Bogor Regency can also go down," he said.
Head of Commerce at the Bogor Regency Trade and Industry Office, Anton Sudjana, said that this inspection was carried out to ensure the availability of basic necessities during Christmas and New Year.
"This is important to provide a sense of security and comfort for the community in meeting their daily needs. Thus, it is hoped that there will be no shortages or significant price spikes," he said.
