PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. INDRAMAYU - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin asked the management of the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory to clean the environment for the comfort and health of prospective Hajj Pilgrims (CJH) staying overnight.

The reason is, the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory will be a resting place for CJH before they fly from West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, on May 12 2024.

"I ask for help if you can clean up the small things, such as plants that are not in good condition and also puddles of water so that they don't cause disease," said Bey Machmudin at the Indramayu Haji Dormitory, Friday (3/5/2024).

Apart from that, Bey will move quickly to coordinate with the Regional Office of the West Java Ministry of Religion and the PUPR Ministry to address the discovery of brackish water conditions for bathing.

"There (Indramayu Haji Dormitory) the problem is that the water is quite brackish, but we are continuing to try, both the Provincial Government and the Ministry of Religion have coordinated with the PUPR Ministry to deal with the water, which looks clean, but is brackish," he added.

CJH will occupy the Hajj dormitory on May 11. According to Bey, even though they only stayed one night to rest, comfort and cleanliness were still the main thing.

"After (going to) Kertajati Airport, it is now the Hajj Dormitory (Indramayu), which will be used by pilgrims who will depart. They will start entering on May 11. So I want to see and the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion said, tomorrow (Saturday) they will carry out a complete cleaning, Bey said.

Although there are still several obstacles related to sanitation and the lack of clean water availability. Bey said that having enough equipment in the bedroom was good enough for CJH to rest.

"I think the equipment in the room is quite good, it's a bit dark, but they only come here to rest. We even tried the TV before, there were no channels, but later we tried going to the Regional Office, which only showed manasik, there were no other TV channels "Just information about the Hajj trip so that those who go will remember," he said.

Meanwhile, there are 100 rooms available and provide four beds (per room). So it can facilitate around 400 Hajj pilgrims staying at the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory.

Bey also emphasized that bathroom cleanliness is the main thing, including changing the sheets regularly.

"There are 100 dorm rooms multiplied by 4 (beds), so it can be filled with 400 Hajj pilgrims. I asked for completeness, the readiness of the staff because every time the congregation changes, the sheets will be changed, neatness and so on. This must be maintained, as well as cleaning the bathrooms. So overall it has been "It's ready, just the final cleaning and the Regional Office promises it will be cleaned tomorrow," said Bey.

Meanwhile, the West Java Ministry of Religion Regional Office, Ajam Mustajam, will recruit 300 employees to help serve CJH who will rest at the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory by prioritizing local residents.

"For the Hajj season we are recruiting 300 employees, prioritizing local residents for cleaning staff and others," said Ajam.

According to him, comfort and providing maximum service to CJH is the management's main priority.

Therefore, to facilitate accessibility in the Indramayu Haji Dormitory area, Golf 5 cars will be provided.

"We brought in a Golf 5 car to transport the congregation from the hall. For the elderly congregation's room on the ground floor," he said.
