PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government supports the construction of the Bintang Mahameru Tirta Bhagasasi Volleyball Sports Hall (GOR) to develop young athletes.

Head of the Sports Achievement Improvement Division of the Bekasi Regency Culture, Youth and Sports Agency (Disbudpora), Ketut Sediawan, expressed his support.

The laying of the first stone for the GOR took place in the WTP II Area, Metland Cibitung Area, West Cikarang District (28/8/2026).

"The Bekasi Regency Government is very supportive of the establishment of clubs and their facilities. We hope that clubs and sports branches in Bekasi Regency can improve their performance, both in West Java and at the national level," said Ketut.

Ketut believes that this facility can be a place for cultivating and developing athletes on a sustainable basis for the people of Bekasi Regency.

"At the very least, we need to start with a nursery, followed by ongoing development. This is where we can produce the best athletes for Bekasi Regency," he said.

The Bekasi Regency Government also appreciates the involvement of PT Bintang Mahameru Sejahtera together with Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi in providing these sports facilities.

"We are pleased that the private sector is interested in achieving sporting success in Bekasi Regency. We hope that other private sectors will continue to support us in the future, especially in sports," he said.

Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi President Director Reza Luthfi Hasan explained that the GOR was built to meet the needs of the academy and the development of club athletes.

"Elite clubs are required to have an academy and coaching staff. Bhagasasi doesn't have one yet. Coaching and an academy require significant funding," Reza said.

The collaboration with PT Bintang Mahameru Sejahtera was then realized through the construction of a sports hall, the formation of a club, and the development of an academy.

The sports hall stands on an area of approximately 1,300 square meters, with the initial phase focused on developing volleyball.

In the future, these facilities have the potential to be developed for the development of other sports, thereby providing wider benefits to the community.

"Sports achievements that can soar nationally and internationally. Therefore, we ensure that this sports hall is more than just a building; it must have an academy and a long-term development process," he said.

PT Bintang Mahameru Sejahtera Manager H. Amung said the construction of the GOR was aimed at expanding the development of the younger generation through volleyball.

"The construction of the Bintang Mahameru Tirta Bhagasasi Sports Hall aims to develop the younger generation, especially volleyball in Bekasi Regency," said Amung.

The sports hall will be open to the general public so that it can become a place to capture the interests and talents of young athletes in Bekasi Regency.

In addition to the volleyball court, the facility is planned to have a gym, athlete dormitory, and supporting facilities to support coaching.

The development of mini soccer, futsal, and basketball facilities is also being discussed to expand the community's sporting activity options.

Collaboration between the government, regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD), and the private sector is expected to strengthen athlete development from recruitment to improving performance.

The ecosystem is targeted to produce Bekasi Regency athletes who can excel at the West Java, national, and international levels.
