PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Tegar Beriman Car Free Day was used as a space for preserving arts and culture through traditional pencak silat performances presented by the Indonesian Community Sports Committee and the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association of Bogor Regency in the Tegar Beriman area (12/04/2026).

These activities demonstrate that public spaces not only function as places for community sports, but also as stages for cultural expression that strengthen local identity.

Various traditional martial arts attractions also enlivened the event, including a debus performance that attracted the attention of visitors.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee of Bogor Regency, Rike Iskandar, said that the collaboration with the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association was a joint effort to develop and preserve regional arts and culture.

"PPSI is the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association, rooted in tradition and culture. Today's performance was extraordinary, including the debus performance. Going forward, KORMI and PPSI will continue to collaborate to develop culture in Bogor Regency," said Rike.

Chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association of Bogor Regency, Dody, appreciated the support of the Bogor Regency Government which has provided space for the art and culture of pencak silat at the Tegar Beriman CFD event.

He believes that synergy between the government and the community is key to increasing public interest in traditional pencak silat.

"Synergy is crucial in efforts to increase public interest in pencak silat while also expanding the introduction of this cultural art to the younger generation," he said.

The public's enthusiasm was evident from the positive response from visitors who enjoyed the arts and cultural performances.

Putri, a resident of Cibinong, said that the pencak silat performance at CFD was both entertaining and a reminder of the importance of preserving the nation's cultural heritage.

"The silat arts and cultural performances at CFD were very engaging and entertaining. The children were able to see firsthand and learn to appreciate their own culture," he said.

The Bogor Regency Government hopes that arts and cultural activities in public spaces can continue to develop as a means of education and cultural preservation for the younger generation.
