PORTALJABAR, CIAMIS REGENCY - The Ciamis Regency Government is encouraging creativity and togetherness through the Ciamis Wanci Kiwari Singing Competition to celebrate the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

The activity held by the Galuh Journalists Forum (FJG) took place in the Ciamis Regency Education Office Hall and was attended by cross-agency representatives (15/8/2026).

Participants came from representatives of Regional Device Organizations (OPD), vertical agencies, and Regionally-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) of Ciamis Regency.

The competition featured the Sundanese pop songs "Lamunan" and "Jang", as well as one song of free choice for each participant.

The Head of the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports (Disbudpora) of Ciamis Regency, Dian Budiana, opened the event at the disposition of the Regent of Ciamis, Herdiat Sunarya.

Dian appreciated FJG for presenting activities with a sense of togetherness while providing space for participants to display their creativity.

"Through activities like this, we can celebrate Independence Day together and strengthen our bonds. Moreover, the songs performed also provide a space for us to continue loving and preserving Sundanese culture," he said.

According to Dian, arts and cultural activities can be a positive space to strengthen unity and increase people's love for local culture.

He hopes that similar activities will continue to be developed as a forum for creativity among state civil servants, agency employees, and the community.

"The local government certainly strongly supports positive activities that can bring joy and strengthen ties within the community," he added.

The participants demonstrated their vocal abilities, performance, and appreciation for the song to obtain the best assessment from the panel of judges.

The Cooperatives, Small, Medium Enterprises and Trade Service (DKUKMP) of Ciamis Regency won first place after going through all stages of assessment.

The Ciamis Regency Manpower Office (Disnaker) won second place, while the Ciamis Regency Culture and Youth and Sports Office won third place.

The public's enthusiasm also enlivened the competition atmosphere, making the independence celebration a space to enjoy regional arts, entertainment, and culture.

The Ciamis Regency Government believes that this activity demonstrates that the commemoration of independence can bring together the government, press, agencies, regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), and the community in positive activities.

Through Ciamis Wanci Kiwari, the spirit of independence is expected to continue to grow through creativity, cultural preservation, togetherness, and a sense of pride in the region.
