PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A lively atmosphere colored the 66th Karang Taruna Bhakti Month Commemoration and the 216th Anniversary of Bandung City which was held on Jalan Cibadak, Cibadak Village, Astana Anyar District, Saturday (26/9/2026) evening.

The event brought the public together for a variety of events, from MSME activities to arts and cultural performances. Dozens of MSMEs also set up booths and offered a variety of products.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, who attended the event, said that Karang Taruna is a forum for channeling the energy of the young generation in Bandung City.

Therefore, he hopes that the organization will continue to have space to contribute to society.

"Karang Taruna is an organization that aims to accommodate the youthful energy of Bandung City. This energy must be channeled," said Farhan.

Farhan said that the Bandung City Government will discuss with Karang Taruna to form a number of policies that can provide assignments to Karang Taruna at the RW and sub-district levels.

He believes that maintaining interaction between the government and the public is also crucial. Public input and criticism are part of this process and can be translated into various activities and policies.

"It wasn't sudden, but it was definitely a good interaction," he said.

In this activity, Farhan also invited the Cibadak community to celebrate the diversity, unity, and beauty of Bandung City together.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Bandung City Youth Organization who is also a Member of the Bandung City DPRD, Andri Gunawan, said that the Cibadak area was chosen as the location for the activity because the area has a strong character as a meeting space for people with diverse backgrounds.

"In Cibadak, we can see a temple, a mosque, and a church standing side by side. All the residents here are of different religions and ethnicities, yet they live in harmony under the same umbrella," said Andri.

According to Andri, this spirit is in line with the values that Karang Taruna wants to convey in its activities, namely building togetherness amidst the diversity of the Bandung City community.

"Cibadak is not the name of a place, but the name of the spirit of the people of Bandung who always strive to sharpen, care for, and nurture each other," he said.

The lively event also featured traditional arts performances and lion dances. Artist Sisca Guzheng Harp also performed and collaborated with local artists, presenting a fusion of art and culture throughout the event.

In addition to the art performances, the presence of dozens of MSMEs also enlivened the event. A variety of community-based products were displayed at several booths open to the public.
