
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds that hit Bandung City on Friday (April 3, 2026) resulted in dozens of emergency situations in various areas. As of 4:45 p.m. WIB, 34 incidents were recorded, consisting of 31 fallen trees, two collapsed billboards/pylon signs, and one flood due to a broken embankment.
Based on the temporary report (live update) of SIKKAT (Synergy Information Coordination Collaboration Rapid Response), the incidents of fallen trees were spread across a number of points with the incidents occurring close together, starting at around 13.40 WIB to 14.43 WIB.
Some of the affected locations include Jalan Cibolerang, Jalan Raya Kopo, Jalan Dr. Djunjunan, the Pasteur area, Jalan Pajajaran, Jalan Sukajadi, and the Ciumbuleuit and Dago areas.
Incidents were also reported in front of Cicendo District, Jalan Gunung Batu, Jalan Garuda, and a number of other points in the western and northern areas of Bandung City.
In addition to fallen trees, two incidents of billboards or pylon signs collapsing also occurred, one on Jalan Purnawarman (in front of BEC) at 14.09 WIB and in the Cibolerang gas station area at 14.45 WIB.
Meanwhile, a flooding incident due to a breached embankment was reported on Jalan Babakan Ciparay, Gang Alwian, at 2:30 p.m. WIB. This incident inundated residential areas and is still under investigation by officers on the ground.
In response to the situation, a joint team consisting of various Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) and volunteers immediately mobilized to conduct assessments, evacuations, and cleanup at the affected locations. Several locations are still underway.
The Bandung City Government also continues to coordinate with various related parties, including utility services such as PLN, especially regarding incidents of fallen trees that impact the electricity network.
The ongoing rain has the potential to cause further incidents. Therefore, the public is advised to remain vigilant, avoid taking shelter under trees, and be aware of potential hazards in their surroundings.
The Bandung City Government ensures that all reports received will be handled in a phased and optimal manner. Incident data is dynamic and will be continuously updated as developments occur on the ground.
