PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Bogor City Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP) in collaboration with DWP of the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tirta Pakuan held an organic rice harvest activity.
This activity is also in order to commemorate Kartini Day at the Mulyaharja Organic Agro Edutourism (AEWO), Mulyaharja Village, South Bogor District, Monday (21/4/2025).
Bogor Mayor's wife Yantie Rachim expressed her appreciation for the selection of Mulyaharja as the location for the social gathering and rice harvest.
According to him, this is the initial step in rebuilding the Mulyaharja area as a place for agricultural education.
"Moreover, the moment coincides with Kartini Day," said Yantie Rachim.
On that occasion, he also highlighted the additional potential of AEWO Mulyaharja. In addition to being able to do agricultural tourism, AEWO Mulyaharja also has a small and beautiful cafe that can be used as a photo spot.
The existence of a cafe can also attract visitors to come to AEWO Mulyaharja.
"AEWO Mulyaharja must carry out routine maintenance for facilities to keep them safe and comfortable for visitors. This activity is also a momentum to promote AEWO Mulyaharja and strengthen the synergy and active role of women in development in the city of Bogor," he added.
Chairperson of DWP DKPP Debbyla Chusnul said that this activity aims to introduce local agricultural potential to members of Dharma Wanita DKPP Bogor City and Perumda Tirta Pakuan who are women or housewives.
Because AEWO Mulyaharja is a "remaining paradise" in Bogor City with an area of around 23 hectares. Of these 23 hectares, three hectares of rice fields in AEWO Mulyaharja are planted with organic rice and have been certified since 2015.
This harvested organic rice will be sold at a price of IDR 20,000 per kilogram.
"We hope that activities like this can strengthen the role of women in the agricultural and food security sectors, without forgetting our main role in the household as wives, as fought for by Ibu Kartini," he said.
