PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, appreciated the holding of the Sabilulungan Mapag Barudak Yatim activity as a form of social concern combined with the preservation of arts and culture in the City of Bogor.

The activity took place at Bumi Ageung Batutulis, Jalan Batutulis, Bogor City, Saturday (7/3/2026).

Dedie Rachim said that the event presented a unique procession, because it involved artists and cultural figures who accompanied the orphans to receive assistance.

"This is an interesting moment where artists, cultural figures, nayaga, then the lengser and dancers accompany orphans to receive assistance," said Dedie Rachim.

He believes that this activity has cultural value that must be preserved, while also providing a space for artists to demonstrate social concern, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

"I think this is an interesting tradition to preserve. In fact, we'll hold it every year at the same location. Artists and cultural figures should also care for orphans, especially in this blessed and forgiving month," he said.

He also said that this activity was a momentum to bring happiness and strengthen ties within the community.

"With all our strengths and weaknesses, with all our abilities, the most important thing is to make each other happy. This, God willing, will strengthen our bonds of friendship," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sabilulungan event committee, Rahiman, said that the implementation of the activity at Bumi Ageung Batutulis was also part of an effort to maximize the use of cultural spaces that had been built by the Bogor City Government (Pemkot).

"Today we are at Bumi Ageung Batutulis, a site built by the Bogor City Government. Thank God, we now have Bumi Ageung, which we may use for arts activities in the future," said Rahiman.

He explained that this year's Sabilulungan Mapag Barudak Yatim was the fourth event held and it was hoped that it would continue to be a regular agenda to strengthen arts and cultural activities in the City of Bogor.

"Hopefully, by holding this event at Bumi Ageung, this space can be utilized more optimally for activities, whether performances, arts training, or anything that can develop arts and culture," he concluded. (Bogor City Communications and Information Office/rka)
