PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A delegation of railway transportation leaders in Southeast Asia who are members of the 44th ASEAN Railway CEO (ARCEO) Conference have arrived in Bandung City.
The delegates of the 44th ARCEO Conference today, Wednesday (5/9/2024) at Bandung Station, after enjoying the Extraordinary Train (KLB) journey from Gambir - Bandung using the Panoramic, Compartment Suites, Priority, and New Dining Cars.
During the trip, the delegates of the 44th ARCEO Conference were able to experience the comfort of various superior facilities from PT KAI while enjoying the natural scenery presented from Cibungur Station to Bandung Station.
Starting from the vast expanse of green rice fields, rows of majestic mountains, long tunnels, to rivers and valleys that soothe the eyes, all can be enjoyed comfortably from behind the train window.
Upon arrival at Bandung Station, the 44th ARCEO Conference delegates reviewed several important facilities owned by Bandung Station, including the skybridge, seeing facilities for passengers, ranging from boarding Face Recognition, Drinking Water, waiting room, free charge corner, clean toilets, lifts, coworking space, food court facilities, to integration facilities between modes of transportation available at Bandung Station, to enjoying a variety of culinary specialties available in the station area.
This visit provides a comprehensive overview of the quality of service and comfort that Bandung Station offers to tourists and train users.
Executive Vice President of PT KAI (Persero) Daop 2 Bandung, Takdir Santoso said that the visit of the ARCEO 2024 delegation was one of our efforts to promote the city of Bandung as a leading tourist destination that is easily accessible by train transportation.
"We hope that this visit can provide a positive impression and further introduce Bandung's tourism potential to the international world," said Takdir.
"With modern facilities and excellent service provided by PT KAI (Persero), Bandung Station is expected to become the main gateway for tourists who want to enjoy the beauty of Bandung City and its surroundings," he added.
Takdir hopes that this activity will also be able to encourage an increase in the number of tourists who use trains as their preferred mode of transportation to visit Bandung.
"In 2024, the daily average at Bandung Station will be 8,000 long-distance train passengers, 7,500 feeder train passengers, and 7,400 local train passengers," added Takdir.
The 44th ARCEO Conference carries the theme "Driving Sustainability with Digital Innovation" and will be held for 4 days from 2 to 5 September 2024 in Bandung City. This ARCEO activity was attended by 8 ASEAN countries, namely Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia, held every year and in 2024 PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) was appointed as the host for its implementation.
