PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The West Java Province Village Community Empowerment Service (DPMD Jabar) is planning the development of a social enterprise program in West Java villages.

As implemented by Cinta Village, Karangtengah District, Garut Regency. This village recently won third place in the National Village and Subdistrict Competition.

The Head of the West Java DPMD, Dicky Saromi, conveyed this plan at the 2024 Regional Apparatus Pre-Forum Coordination Meeting for Community and Village Empowerment, in the Ballroom of the Santika Garut Hotel, Jalan Cipanas Baru, Tarogong Kaler District, Garut Regency (1/2/2024).

This program aims to encourage social entrepreneurship in all West Java villages, with Cinta Village as a successful example.

"The strength of social entrepreneurship that exists in Garut Regency, we can take this idea, especially from Cinta Village, which yesterday won third place in the national village and sub-district competition, where its social strength is an extraordinary strength," said Dicky.

According to Dicky, the strength of Cinta Village's social entrepreneurship can become capital for other villages. He hopes that this social entrepreneurship model can be a driving force for residents who have migrated to continue to love and empower their village.

"We want to adapt this, sir, to make an example of this, so that later it can become village capital, for those who wander outside and so on, they still love their village," he said.

This coordination meeting is a preparation for the regional apparatus forum which will be held on 20-21 February 2024.

Dicky stated that this preparation refers to the historic milestone of 2025, which is the beginning of the long-term development plan for Indonesia and West Java.

He emphasized the transformation of village development in 2025, where villages are expected to become the subject of development with a larger portion than regional government intervention.

The focus is to direct the village as an investment with a large multiplier effect and create creative human resources.
