PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) is striving to protect workers' rights and open up access to new jobs for workers who have been laid off. The Ministry of Manpower recorded that 13,044 workers in West Java were affected by layoffs between January and September 2026.

Head of the West Java Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Disnakertrans), I Gusti Agung Kim Fajar, said the government is facilitating the fulfillment of workers' rights in accordance with statutory provisions.

The West Java Provincial Government is also strengthening coordination and early detection of potential industrial relations issues. If problems arise, they are resolved through dialogue.

"Coordination with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is also being carried out to support workers' access to Job Loss Security (JKP) and Old Age Security (JHT) benefits in accordance with applicable regulations," Kim said on Wednesday (14/10/2026).

In addition, the West Java Provincial Government facilitates job placement through the Nyari Gawe app, which connects job seekers with companies. The West Java Provincial Government also developed an Online Job Fair through a live broadcast with the Governor of West Java on the Governor's TikTok account @dedimulyadiofficial. As of October 9, 2026, this program had been implemented in four editions, involving 89 companies and providing 5,768 job openings.

Training through the Mobile Training Unit and entrepreneurship training are also part of efforts to increase workforce competitiveness and open up independent business opportunities.
