PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The 3rd Bekasi Regency Community Sports Festival (Forkab) in 2025 was officially opened by the Deputy Regent of Bekasi, dr. Asep Surya Atmaja, at the Juang Building, South Tambun, Saturday (04/26/2025). A total of 1,500 participants from the Main Sports Organization (Inorga) took part in the lively event.
The event began with a parade from dozens of organizations that are members of the Indonesian Community Recreational Sports Committee (Kormi) of Bekasi Regency.
The togetherness and enthusiasm of the participants made this event encourage a healthy lifestyle and preserve the sports culture of the community, especially in Bekasi Regency.
In his speech, the Deputy Regent of Bekasi, dr. Asep Surya Atmaja appreciated all parties who have contributed to the success of the 3rd Forkab. He emphasized that community sports must be part of everyday life, not just a competition event.
"Alhamdulillah, today we open the 3rd Forkab. Since I became the Head of Kormi three years ago, Bekasi Regency has won 38 medals, consisting of 25 gold medals and the rest silver and bronze. With me now as Deputy Regent, we must further improve our achievements and participation, especially in the Pornas and Porprov events. The potential of our children is very large," said Asep.
Asep also highlighted the growth in the number of Inorga under the auspices of Kormi Bekasi Regency which increased from 14 to 36 organizations. According to him, this reflects the high interest of the community in exercising, along with the increasing awareness of the importance of healthy and active living.
As one of the largest industrial centers in Southeast Asia, Asep emphasized that Bekasi Regency does not only want to be known for its economic strength, but also as an area whose people are healthy, active, and enthusiastic.
"Exercising is no longer an option, but a basic need. Forkab is an important part in realizing a society that is aware of the importance of health investment to build a better civilization," he added.
The General Chairperson of the West Java Province Kormi, Denda Alamsyah, who also attended the opening ceremony, expressed his appreciation for the development of community sports in Bekasi Regency. He hopes that the 3rd Forkab can be a means of friendship as well as a benchmark for the success of the participants' training.
"If there are participants who succeed in winning medals, it is not impossible that they can go further to become professional athletes," said Denda.
The 3rd Forkab in 2025 was held on April 26-27, 2025, competing for 119 medals spread across 12 venues. This event was attended by 15 organizations, with support from 30 organizing committees.
Through Forkab, the Bekasi Regency Government hopes to continue to build a sports culture in the community, strengthen solidarity, and improve the quality of life of the community through a healthy and active lifestyle.
