PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin exercised his right to vote at TPS 15, Jalan Cianjur, Kacapiring Village, Batununggal District, Bandung City, Wednesday (14/2/2024).
Raindrops plus gusts of cold wind typical of the city of Bandung, accompanied Bey and other residents voting in the 2024 elections.
Bey and his mother, Betty Machmudin voted today at different polling stations, namely at TPS 13, Jalan Garut.
The acting Governor of West Java also queued with other residents according to the serial number that had been obtained.
"I have exercised my rights as a citizen using my right to vote," said Bey Machmudin after voting.
"It's my parents' house near here, so I chose it close by. This morning I thought I could share the same polling station with my parents, it turned out my mother was at the polling station on Jalan Garut, while I was here (Jalan Cianjur)," added Bey while showing his pinky. already dipped in blue ink.
"I got number 77, it's not nice to miss it, but the process is also fast. I also want to know the waiting process and other things," added Bey.
He also did not forget to advise the people of West Java to exercise their right to vote. Voting must be carried out legally in accordance with established regulations.
Smart voters
Bey also advised West Java residents to become intelligent voters, who understand and are confident in their choices before coming to the polling station.
So they don't have to waste a long time behind the voting booth because they are still confused about choosing.
"(West Java residents) please use their right to vote and vote legally, don't let the vote be illegal too far. Be a smart voter, who understands which one to vote for, don't spend half an hour in the voting booth," said Bey.
"Earlier my mother also opened (the ballot paper), which one to choose because she is already old. So millennials, young people, immediately make a choice or at least look for information first because there are so many choices," he said.
After voting, Bey together with West Java Forkopimda officials monitored other polling stations which were carrying out the voting process.
A number of polling stations visited by Bey Machmudin included the special polling station for Class 1 State Detention Center, Kebon Waru, Bandung.
Then TPS 09 and 10 on Jalan Cicendo, Bandung City to the special TPS at Santosa Hospital, Bandung City.
Apart from that, Bey also revealed that West Java residents were enthusiastic about exercising their right to vote. This is based on reports he received from regents/mayors throughout West Java.
Many areas in West Java have been hit by rain since Tuesday (13/2) evening, residents remain enthusiastic in flocking to the polling stations to exercise their right to vote.
"I have a group of regents/mayors throughout West Java, almost all of the rainy areas, but the residents are still enthusiastic even though they arrived a little late because it rained from dawn or evening," said Bey.
