PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Head of the Garut Regency Agriculture Service (Kadistan), Ardhy Firdian, attended a thanksgiving event held by the Harum Madu Food Care Farmers Group in Mekarsari Village, Bayongbong District, Garut Regency, Monday (September 28, 2026). During the event, the Kadistan handed over rice seeds to local farmers.

Ardhy Firdian explained that his presence was a response to an invitation from the Harum Madu Farmers Group and a form of support from the local government for farmers whose land had been affected by the drought some time ago.

"We from the Department of Agriculture are providing replacement seeds for members of the farming group," said Ardhy.

In addition to handing over aid, the Head of the Garut Agriculture Department also appreciated the innovative concept of the Cimanuk River School (SSC) in developing the agricultural sector in the region.

"So, this is a very good concept, and it can be adopted and published by other community groups in Garut Regency," he added.

He hopes that the entire series of activities will provide real and sustainable benefits for the wider community.

At the same location, Mulyono Kadafi, Director of the Cimanuk River School (SSC), explained that the thanksgiving event included a seedling planting activity. This activity was intended to encourage and motivate the community to rekindle their enthusiasm for farming.

Mulyono emphasized that water availability is the key to agricultural success. He stated that quality seeds will not yield optimal yields without adequate irrigation support.

"There is no use in planting any seeds if there is no water," he stressed.

In closing, Mulyono expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Garut Regency Agriculture Service for its continued commitment to ensuring water availability for irrigating agricultural land in the regency. (Garut Communications and Information Service/rka)
