PORTALJABAR, CIMAHI CITY - The West Java Provincial Social Service held the 2026 West Java Provincial National Elderly Day (HLUN) Commemoration. This activity carried the theme "Resilient Elderly, Growing Indonesia", this activity was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the West Java Provincial Social Service on Thursday (11/6/2026).

The 2026 HLUN commemoration is an important momentum to increase awareness, respect, and support for the elderly so that they remain productive and prosperous.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the West Java Provincial Social Services Agency, Noneng Komara Nengsih. In her remarks, she emphasized that meeting the needs of seniors is a collective responsibility. "The welfare of the elderly is not only the responsibility of families, but also a shared responsibility between the government, the community, the business world, and various other stakeholders," Noneng said.

Also present in person was the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman. In his remarks, he expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication of the elderly. He emphasized that they have made significant contributions to the development of West Java.

Therefore, according to him, all parties need to work together to provide the best possible care so that the elderly can live healthily, independently, productively, empowered, and have a strong spirit.

In addition to the HLUN commemoration agenda, this activity also included the awarding of prizes for the Mentally Ill Persons (ODGJ) Handling Competition and the launch of the Social Rehabilitation Module.

Through strong collaboration between the government, businesses, philanthropic organizations, and the community, HLUN 2026 is expected to become a space for togetherness and caring for the elderly, promoting dignity and improving the well-being of the elderly in West Java.
