PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Health Service (Dinkes) ensures that people celebrating their birthdays can enjoy free health checks at the Community Health Centers in Bandung City.
The Free Health Check-up Program (PKG) launched by the central government aims to help the public detect potential diseases early, so that treatment can be carried out more quickly and medical costs can be more affordable.
Head of Bandung City Health Office, Anhar Hadian said, although the progress of this program is still far from ideal, his party continues to strive to increase the scope of services. Currently, 80 percent of Health Centers in Bandung City have implemented the program.
Meanwhile, regarding his patients, Anhar said there was an increase in visits compared to when the program was first released.
"In every health facility (faskes), there are at least two to three people who check themselves on their birthday. In fact, the Ministry of Health hopes that one Puskesmas can examine 20-30 patients per day. We will certainly get there, but this is a gradual process," he said, Monday (17/3/2025).
Several health centers that have been actively serving PKG patients include Garuda, Puter, and Margahayu Raya Health Centers. According to him, this program is also supported by the population density in these areas.
Even so, the facilities in every Community Health Center in Bandung City are evenly distributed, although there are still some Community Health Centers that do not have EKG equipment.
People who participate in the PKG program on their birthday will receive a basic health check. After the initial interview, the officer will determine whether the patient needs to continue further examinations, such as cholesterol, heart, TB, and cancer examinations.
"The goal of this Central Government program, we believe, is for the public to be able to detect potential diseases in their bodies early. If detected early, treatment will be easier and the cost of treatment will be more affordable," added Anhar.
The Bandung City Health Office also reminded the public not to hesitate to ask the Community Health Centers in their respective areas about this PKG program.
"This free health check is an important opportunity to increase health awareness among the people of Bandung City. So, we hope that our people will not hesitate to ask the nearest health facility from their residence," said Anhar. (Bandung City Public Relations/rka)
