PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Social Service (Dinsos) collaborated with the Bandung City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) to hold a free mass circumcision program.

This mass circumcision activity was attended by 60 participants, 33 of whom came from the Regional Public Hospital, while the other 27 participants were residents registered through the Bandung City Social Service.

This mass circumcision is still part of a series of celebrations for the 214th Anniversary of the City of Bandung which falls on September 25 (25/9/2024).

Director of Bandung City Hospital, dr. Nitta Kurniati Somantri, said that this activity is a form of concern from the Hospital and Social Service for the community, especially in terms of health.

"Alhamdulillah, this activity is a good collaboration with the Bandung City Social Service. We hope that this mass circumcision activity will not only stop at HJKB, but can become an annual agenda as a form of service to the community," said Dr. Nitta at the Bandung City Hospital, Thursday, September 19, 2024.

"Circumcision is the right choice, because it can reduce the risk of urinary tract infections and penile cancer, as well as maintain the health of the genital organs," he added.

In addition to free circumcision, participants also received gifts from the Bandung City Hospital and Social Services.

This activity received a positive response from participants, one of whom was Agus Karyana (48), a companion of Urfan Carsar (9) who came from Cibiru.

"I got information from my wife about this program, and coincidentally there was a plan to circumcise my son. Alhamdulillah, we were selected and were able to participate in this program. It is very useful, and I hope this activity can continue," said Agus.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bandung City Social Service, Sony Bactiar said, this mass circumcision activity is a real form of collaboration between the RSUD and Dinsos in the series of the 214th HJKB.

"We really appreciate the synergy that has been established, and hope that programs like this can continue to provide benefits to the people of Bandung City," said Sony.

With the start of this program, RSUD and Dinsos Kota Bandung hope to continue to provide maximum health services for the community, while strengthening social solidarity in the momentum of the 214th HJKB. (Diskominfo Kota Bandung/Revo)
