PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java (Jabar) Education Office (Disdik) has begun conducting offline and online trials of the 2026 New Student Admissions System (SPMB) application from the Tikomdik Command Center of the West Java Disdik Office, Bandung City, Friday (8/5/2026).

The Head of the West Java Education Office, Purwanto, said this was an effort to provide easy, organized, and targeted educational services for prospective students in West Java.

The Head of the Education Office explained that the first phase of the trial was conducted on a limited basis, involving representatives from districts/cities in West Java. "Today, the trial will be conducted in all districts/cities on a limited scale. Each district/city will only have one to two participants per school, from both junior high and Islamic junior high schools," he explained.

According to the Head of Education, the trial was conducted to ensure the application is easy to understand and easy to use by the public and educational units during the SPMB implementation.

"A good application should be easy to understand, easy to use, and meet our needs. If it's still difficult to use, there are things that need to be improved," he said.

The West Java Provincial Government, he explained, is targeting the registration of all junior high school (SMP) and Islamic junior high school (MTs) graduates in the region through the application. According to data from the West Java Education Office, there are approximately 826,000 junior high school (SMP) and Islamic junior high school (MTs) graduates in West Java who will participate in the secondary education mapping process.

"All junior high and Islamic junior high school students in West Java Province must complete this application so that everything is recorded, recorded, and can be properly mapped," he said.

Through this application, students will be registered for continuing their education to high school, vocational school, Islamic high school, or other levels. The Head of the Education Office added that the results of the first phase of the trial will be used as evaluation material to refine the system before its widespread use in the upcoming SPMB implementation.

Therefore, the Head of Education Office asked all trial participants to actively provide input, including regarding technical obstacles encountered during the simulation process.

"We really hope for your thoroughness, seriousness, and active participation. All of this is for the good of our children and the advancement of education in West Java Province," he said.

The launch of the SPMB and SPMB Maung School socialization is scheduled for May 18, 2026. (Apun/rka)
