PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Education Office continues to intensify outreach regarding the New Student Admissions System (SPMB). In a talk show on Radio Sonata on Tuesday (April 7, 2026), Edy Suparjoto, Secretary of the Bandung City Education Office, reminded the public to prepare all administrative requirements well in advance.
On that occasion, Edy stated that parents still have about a month to understand and optimally prepare for the SPMB process. He urged them to ensure that key documents, such as Family Cards, birth certificates, and parents' ID cards, are valid and updated.
"The main requirements must be prepared now. If any are not yet updated, update them immediately to avoid delays in the registration process," he said.
Furthermore, the public is asked to thoroughly understand the regulations, stages, and procedures that will be implemented. Official information can be accessed through various Education Office channels, including the website and social media, which also provide technical guides and tutorials.
Edy added that for parents still experiencing difficulties, the nearest public school will provide assistance through the school operator. Furthermore, a 24-hour help desk is available to answer questions from the public.
He also reminded the public not to be easily swayed by parties offering assistance in exchange for certain benefits. The current SPMB process is transparent, objective, and system-based.
"There are no patronage practices or unofficial channels. All processes are conducted through a system that can be openly monitored. If anyone feels they are being violated, the public can report it directly, and action will be taken immediately," he stressed.
When choosing an enrollment pathway, parents are also encouraged to consider the opportunities that best suit their individual circumstances. Understanding the schedule and mechanisms is key to avoiding errors during the enrollment process.
On the other hand, Edy also highlighted the growing trend of interest in non-formal education, such as homeschooling. He considered this a positive development, as long as it still prioritizes educational quality.
In closing, he emphasized the Bandung City Government's commitment to ensuring that all school-age children continue to have access to education.
"No school-age child should be left without school, whether through formal, informal, or private education. We will serve everyone," he concluded. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/rka)
