PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Transportation Agency (Dishub) is tightening supervision of public mobility ahead of Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2025.
Acting Head of Bandung City Transportation Agency Asep Kuswara stated that the surge in passengers during Christmas and New Year this year is expected to increase compared to previous years.
Based on Dishub data, in Nataru 2023, Leuwipanjang Terminal experienced a 17 percent increase in passengers, while Cicaheum Terminal jumped 34 percent. For this year, it is predicted that the number of departures from Cicaheum Terminal will increase again by around 10 percent.
To ensure that vehicles are roadworthy, Asep said the Transportation Agency will conduct a ramp check on December 18–20, 2024.
"Ramp checks aim to ensure technical and operational requirements for vehicles so that traffic remains safe and orderly during Christmas and New Year," he said at Bandung City Hall, Tuesday (12/17/2024).
Asep said the number of fleets for Nataru at Leuwipanjang Terminal is 561 units (248 AKAP Buses, 313 AKDP Buses, each serving 8 routes). While at Cicaheum Terminal there are 165 units (106 AKAP Buses with 22 routes, 59 AKDP Buses with 13 routes).
He predicted that the peak of departure flow is predicted to occur on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 and Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Meanwhile, the return flow is predicted to peak on Wednesday-Thursday, January 1-2, 2025.
The Bandung City Transportation Agency has also mapped 16 points prone to congestion during the Christmas and New Year period, namely:

2. Sukajadi Street (PVJ, Market)
3. Setiabudhi Street (Ledeng Terminal)
4. Cipaganti – Setiabudhi Road
5. Cihampelas Street – Ciwalk Flyover
6. Jalan Soekarno-Hatta – Kopo
7. Jalan Tamblong – Asia Afrika – Jalan Braga
8. Jalan Soekarno-Hatta – Mohammad Toha
9. Soekarno-Hatta Road – Buahbatu
10. Soekarno-Hatta Street – Cibiru Roundabout
11. Soekarno-Hatta Road – Kircon (Samsat)
12. Jalan A. Yani (Cicaheum Terminal)
13. Citra Green Road / Dago Bend
14. Jajaway Street
15. Pusdai – Suci Road
16. Cimencrang – Darwati Road
"For that reason, we are deploying personnel on these road sections to carry out traffic control (gatur) which will be implemented from December 22, 2024 to January 2, 2025," he said.
In addition, the Transportation Agency is working with the police to set up 10 security posts (Pospam) to ensure that the implementation of Nataru runs safely and smoothly. The ten Pospams are:

2. Plumbing Terminal Post
3. Merdeka Building Security Post
4. Dago Intersection Security Post
5. Gedung Sate Security Post
6. Yogyakarta Kepatihan Security Post
7. Buah Batu Toll Gate Security Post
8. Cibiru Roundabout Security Post
9. Derwati Post Office
10. Cicaheum Terminal Health Post
Each security post is divided into two shifts: morning (06.00–14.00 WIB) and afternoon (14.00–21.00 WIB), with 2 Dishub personnel at each point per shift, plus Satpol PP and local area personnel.
The Transportation Agency also carries out supervision at a number of tourist attractions that are predicted to be crowded with visitors, such as:
1. Karang Setra
2. Zoo
3. Traffic Park
4. Geological Museum
5. Al Jabbar Mosque
In addition, several flyovers will be strictly guarded and closed situationally to prevent crowds, including:
- Mochtar Kusumaatmadja Flyover
- Rainbow Flyover
- Fly Over Kopo
- Kiaracondong Flyover.
Supervision at the flyover will begin at 18.00 to 24.00 WIB before New Year's Eve, according to the situation on the ground and police policy.
To support the smooth running and security during Christmas and New Year 2024, the Bandung City Transportation Agency deployed 321 personnel.
Asep hopes that public mobility during the 2024 Christmas and New Year celebrations can run orderly, safely, and smoothly.
