PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Service (Diskar PB) won 1st place in the Survival category at the 2024 National Fire Fighter Skill Competition (NFSC) in Surabaya City.

NFSC is a competition for the skills of fire and rescue personnel (DPKP) to welcome the 105th anniversary of the National Fire and Rescue Service.

Apart from winning 1st place in the Survival category, Diskar PB Bandung City also won 1st place in the Ladder Pitching category.

Head of the Bandung City PB Diskar, Gun Gun Sumaryana, welcomed this achievement positively. According to him, this achievement was a result of the hard work and unity of the Bandung City PB Diskar team.

"Thank God, from three categories, we won 1st place in the survival category," said Gun Gun at the Brawijaya Military Command Field, Jalan Raden Wijaya Surabaya, Friday (1/3/2024)

"In general, this competition shows rescue and extinguishing techniques," he added.

Furthermore, Gun Gun said, the success of the Bandung City PB Diskar in winning the championship at the commemoration of the 105th anniversary of the National Fire and Rescue Department was a reflection of improving capabilities and services to the community.

"The key is in the process of extinguishing or rescuing, we must be careful. And we must be safe. This is a motivation for colleagues at the PB Diskar or Indonesian Damkar, especially the City of Bandung, in paying attention to this aspect (vigilance and safety in handling fires or disasters )," he explained.

Gun Gun said that the Bandung City PB Diskar has a fire handling standard of 15 minutes. He also ensured that the performance of the Bandung City Diskar PB was continuously maintained, so that fire handling in Bandung City never took longer than this standard.

"Our response time is 15 minutes. Thank God, so far we have always completed and handled the response time faster than that time," he said.

Apart from that, Acting Mayor of Bandung Bambang Tirtoyuliono expressed his congratulations. He added that high fighting power is a strong asset for the Bandung City Regional Government in providing maximum services to the community.
