PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) of Garut Regency facilitated a Computer Assisted Test (CAT) simulation for 11 honorary employees who will take part in the first phase of the 2024 selection of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

This activity took place at the Public Information Center (PIC) Building of the Garut Regency Communication and Information Service, Jalan Pembangunan, Tarogong Kidul District, Thursday (11/21/2024). The simulation was monitored directly by the Acting Secretary of the Communication and Information Service Egga Mahessa Suardi.

Head of the Garut Regency Communication and Information Service Margiyanto explained that this simulation was intended to prepare especially honorary workers of the Communication and Information Service who meet the criteria to be better prepared to face the PPPK test scheduled for December. This activity was initiated by the Garut Regency Personnel and Training Agency (BKD) and fully supported by the Communication and Information Service.

"In this test, we conduct simulations or try outs to be used as a means of training for honorary workers who will take the CAT test so that they are better prepared to carry out the test activities," said Margiyanto.

Margiyanto advised the honorary workers within the Garut Communication and Information Service who are currently taking part in the PPPK selection, to follow all stages of the selection with full responsibility and as optimally as possible.

"Study seriously because this will determine your future, especially in determining the employment status of honorary workers in the Garut Regency Communication and Informatics Service," he said.

Margiyanto hopes that this simulation can continue to be carried out gradually until the test is carried out. He also emphasized the importance of utilizing this simulation to hone skills and strategies for dealing with test questions.

"We hope that all qualified honorary workers can pass and get good grades," added Margiyanto.

One of the simulation participants, Yogi Gunawan, said that this was his first experience participating in the PPPK CAT simulation. He admitted that the questions in the simulation were quite complex, while the time given was relatively short. However, he felt that this simulation was very helpful in providing an overview of the actual exam.

"We need a strategy to solve problems like the ones simulated. This simulation is the first step to learning more intensively and productively, so that when the test comes we can be more prepared, both emotionally and technically," said Yogi.

Yogi also explained that the simulation covered various types of questions, ranging from calculations, history, to socio-cultural management. He appreciated the implementation of the simulation which was supported by adequate facilities and networks from Diskominfo Garut.

"Technically, (the implementation of the simulation) Kominfo is complete, starting from the network, facilities and infrastructure, it's complete, thank God, the only obstacle is that we haven't made any preparations, because apart from their age, they are quite old and rarely study, so that is the main obstacle, so there is a need for more intensive study," he said.

Yogi expressed his hope that this effort can help honorary workers achieve their dreams of becoming PPPK. To that end, he and his colleagues will maximize the available time to continue studying the material that will be tested, including continuing to participate in simulations that are planned to be carried out periodically.

"This is an ideal that has been aspired to for decades by honorary workers, hopefully we can take steps to get a decree or capacity improvement status through honorary workers to become PPPK," he concluded. (Garut Communication and Information Service/Revo)
