PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) of Garut Regency received a visit from the West Java Information Commission (KI), received directly by the Head of Diskominfo, Margiyanto, in his office, Tuesday (25/2/2025). This visit aims to provide education and socialization to various public bodies and discuss improving transparent information services to the public.

Commissioner for Socialization, Education, and Public Communication of the West Java Information Commission, Nuni Nurbayani, emphasized the importance of disseminating informative information that is easy for the public to understand.

"We aim to disseminate information in an informative manner so that it can be well received by the public," he said.

In this meeting, Erwin Kustiman, Coordinator of the Public Information Dispute Resolution (PSIP) of the West Java Information Commission, was also present. Nuni Nurbayani revealed that the number of information disputes in West Java is still quite high, reaching 400 cases, so wider socialization is needed to various regions.

He also appreciated the efforts of the Garut Communication and Information Service in fostering Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) related to information transparency. According to him, collaboration between the Information Commission and agencies in West Java needs to be strengthened in order to improve public information transparency.

Meanwhile, Head of Garut Communication and Information Office, Margiyanto welcomed the visit and considered it as a momentum to strengthen the synergy that has been established. He highlighted the importance of improving the quality of information services to minimize disputes.

"Because the word dispute has definitely emerged in a bad sense and as if we are not serving information," he said. Therefore, he hopes that the West Java Information Commission can be a resource person in providing understanding to all Information and Documentation Management Officers (PPID) in Garut Regency.

Garut Communication and Information Service also plans to conduct outreach efforts down to the village level so that collective awareness in improving the quality of public services becomes stronger.

"We want to ensure that the delivery of information is open and transparent in accordance with laws and regulations," he said. (Garut Communications and Information Service/rka)
