SEMARANG CITY -- The West Java Province Communication and Information Service won an award at the 2023 INDONESIA PR Awards (AHI) held by Indonesian Public Relations at the Quest Hotel Semarang, Central Java, Friday (3/11/2023).
West Java Diskominfo received three awards, namely Gold Winner in the Best PPID category, Gold Winner in the Most Innovative Public Information Openness Service Category, and Silver Winner in the Digital Channel Category, Website Sub Category.
Head of the West Java Province Communication and Information Service, Ika Mardiah, said that the West Java Provincial Government won this award in line with the assessment of the public information openness index, where this year West Java achieved the highest score in Indonesia with a score of 84.43 points.
Apart from that, this award is a form of result of implementing the obligations of public bodies in Law Number 14 concerning Openness of Public Information.
"Assessments and awards are not the main target, but how to provide better public information services," said Ika Mardiah.
The 5th Anniversary of Indonesian Public Relations 2023 series of events with the theme 'Information Openness for the Sustainability of Reputable Public Bodies' took place from the Opening of GPR Outlook 2024, Workshop to Awarding.
Judging for AHI 2023 took place in two stages, namely the preliminary and presentation rounds which were held in a hybrid manner involving five judges including Asmono Wikan (CEO PR INDONESIA Group), Emilia Bassar (CEO CPROCOM (Center for Public Relations, Outreach and Communication), Prof. Dr Dorien Kartika (Professor for Communication at Unika Atma Jaya, Deputy General Chair of PERHUMAS for Public Relations Competency Development), Fardila Astari (Communications Director, Rajawali Foundation), and Arif Adi Kuswardono (Commissioner of the Indonesian Central Information Commission for the 2017 - 2022 period).
This public institution communication performance and information openness competition event was attended by Ministries, Institutions, Regional Governments, State Universities, BUMN, BUMN Subsidiaries, BUMD, Public Service Agencies (BLU) throughout Indonesia.
Asmono Wikan, CEO and Founder and CEO of Indonesian Public Relations stated that the 2023 Indonesian Public Relations Award (AHI) was held to give appreciation to public bodies that have carried out extraordinary work in conveying open public information.
"AHI 2023 was attended by 240 participants with a total of 80 trophies awarded which will be handed over to 40 public bodies," said Asmono.
