PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Representatives of a number of countries emphasized that the spirit of the Asian-African Conference must continue to burn and surge. In fact, the values of the Asian-African Conference must continue to be passed on to the next generation.

This came up during the 2024 Asian African Festival Cultural Discussion (6/7/2024).

The delegate from the Philippines, Gina Alagon Jamoralin, highlighted the importance of introducing the values of the Asian-African Conference to the new generation in a different way.

"Bandung has always had a special place in the history of the Asian-African Conference. We must present this Conference to the new generation," he said.

Meanwhile, the delegate from Tanzania, Machoca Moshe Tembele, recalled the beginning of the Asia-Africa Conference 69 years ago and emphasized the importance of achieving economic and political independence through cooperation.

The delegate from Sri Lanka, Jayanath Colombage expressed his pride in Indonesia and emphasized the importance of starting cultural exchanges as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Padjadjaran University Cultural Studies Expert, Prof. Kunto Adi Wibowo reminded Sukarno of the spirit expressed by Sukarno, "Let new Asia and new Africa be born" (let a new Asia and Africa be born)

He emphasized the importance of relations between Asian and African countries, and several initiatives that could be collaborated on include:

1. cultural addict

4. Joint educational programs, such as student exchange
5. Maintain cultural heritage with cultural exchange
6. Collaboration in the field of public health

Kunto emphasized the importance of sharing culture quickly and continuously in this global era, and encouraged the implementation of student, teacher and cultural exchanges.

"I hope that collaboration and cultural exchange between Asia and Africa can continue to develop," said Kunto.

Previously, delegates to the Asian-African Conference visited the Asian-African Conference Museum in Bandung after carrying out a city tour to City Hall and Gedung Sate, Saturday, July 6 2024.
