PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Industry and Trade Service (Disperindag) of West Java Province (Janar) held a subsidized market operation (OPADI) in Malangbong District, Garut Regency, Tuesday (18/3/2025).
This program aims to stabilize the price of important basic commodities (bapokting) in the month of Ramadan 1446 H and ahead of Idul Fitri.
Acting Assistant for Economic and Development of the Garut Regency Government, Dedi Mulyadi, said that Garut Regency received an allocation of two subsidized market operation activities, which will be carried out today in Malangbong District and tomorrow in Sukaresmi District.
"Alhamdulillah, Garut Regency received an allocation of two activities in the sub-district today and tomorrow. Today's activities in Malangbong Sub-district cover 24 villages, and the village heads are present today," said Dedi Mulyadi.
He hopes that this subsidized market operation can suppress the price of basic necessities ahead of Eid and provide peace of mind for the community. This activity is also part of the efforts of the Garut Regency Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) through the 4K program, namely Affordable Prices, Availability of Foodstuffs, Smooth Distribution Channels, and Effective Communication.
"That's what we always do in Garut Regency, thank God now we are getting support from the West Java Provincial Government," he said.
On behalf of the Garut Regency Government, Dedi Mulyadi expressed his gratitude to the Governor of West Java and the West Java Trade and Industry Office for the allocation of subsidized market operation assistance. A total of 3,000 basic food packages containing rice, oil, sugar, and flour were distributed in this activity.
Meanwhile, the representative of the West Java Trade and Industry Agency, Deni Hidayat, explained that for the 2025 budget year, Garut Regency received an allocation of subsidized market operations in two sub-districts, namely Malangbong Sub-district with 3,000 packages and Sukaresmi Sub-district with 1,589 packages which will be implemented the following day.
"For the distribution of TA 2025, we only got two sub-districts for Garut Regency, namely Malangbong Sub-district 3,000 packages and Sukaresmi Sub-district 1,589 packages which will be implemented tomorrow," explained Deni Hidayat. He also hopes that the allocation for Garut Regency can continue to increase in the coming years.
For the sales system, Deni Hidayat said that his party implemented a collective system through the village head and forwarded to each RT/RW. This is in accordance with the direction of the Governor of West Java to avoid long queues. The aid packages will be handed over directly to residents in need.
