PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Regional Library and Archives Service (Dispusipda) in commemorating Heroes' Day held an Archives and Music Literacy Campaign (KLASIK) by photographing the heroic story of the Bojong Kokosan incident.
Head of the West Java Dispusipda I Gusti Agung Kim Fajar Wiyati Oka said that the Archives Division collaborated with the TNI AD History Service, Siliwangi Military Command III, to bring back this heroic event so that the younger generation would know about one of the Indonesian people's struggles in defending independence, namely the Bojong Kokosan battle.
According to him, the chronology of the Bojong Kokosan historical event which occurred in the Sukabumi area on December 9 1945 has been neatly archived and well maintained at the West Java Dispusipda and the Indonesian Army History Service.
"This is what we want to introduce and remind the public, especially the younger generation, about this historical event," said Wiyati Oka at the West Java Dispusipda office, Bandung City, Tuesday (28/11/2023).
The Bojong Kokosan incident was a battle against Allied troops. Bojong Kokosan is the name of the area in the Sukabumi area which is the route connecting Sukabumi-Cianjur-Bandung.
In this KLASIK episode-3, the West Java Dispusipda apart from collaborating with the TNI AD History Service, also collaborated with SMK Negeri 10 Bandung City to work on music and films to fill in the material.
"Why do we associate it with music because music is a universal language. It is hoped that this literacy and archival campaign can be easily reached and understood by the public through the media of music and film," he explained.
KLASIK episode-3 of the West Java Dispusipda was also filled with talk shows about the history of the Bojong Kokosan incident, historical film screenings, live music , fashion shows , archive awards and a cheap food bazaar for MSME and Millennial Farmer products.
