PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Environmental Agency (DLH) is encouraging children and the younger generation to become advocates for a clean environment through research and innovation.

These efforts were carried out through a Seminar on Dissemination of Children's Research on the Environment, Advocacy of Children's Rights, and Innovation in Organic Waste Management (8/8/2026).

The activity at the Garut Regency DLH Hall was attended by relevant regional officials, children, and the younger generation to convey environmental ideas.

The seminar discussed children's rights to a clean, healthy, safe and sustainable environment as well as innovations in organic waste management.

Waste management from the source is encouraged to reduce waste generation while maintaining the cleanliness of the community's environment.

The Head of the Garut Regency Environmental Agency emphasized that the involvement of children and youth is necessary to bring about sustainable environmental change.

"Children's voices must be heard because they are the generation that will be directly impacted by environmental conditions in the future. Therefore, children's involvement in protecting and fighting for a healthy environment must continue to be encouraged," was the message conveyed at the event.

Through this activity, the Garut Regency Environmental Agency encourages the birth of more Young Environmental Activists who care and are able to take real action.

The younger generation is expected to have environmental knowledge as well as the courage to take action to address waste and cleanliness issues.

This activity also strengthens understanding that environmental protection and the fulfillment of children's rights are two interrelated things.
