PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Regent of Garut, Rudy Gunawan, appreciated the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Arts and Qasidah Institute (LASQI) Garut Regency which will participate in the National Level Gambus Qasidah Vocalist and Pop Religious Star Festival in Tangerang City, Banten Province in 2023. He conveyed this when receiving a visit from the DPD LASQI Garut Regency at the Garut Regent's Office, Monday (6/11/2023).

In this prestigious event, DPD LASQI Garut Regency will send its 5 best members to represent West Java Province.

"As the Regent of Garut, I wish congratulations and success to the DPD LASQI Garut Regency who will represent LASQI West Java to compete at the national level," he said.

Rudy stated that the participation of the Garut Regency LASQI DPD in this annual event was a source of pride for Garut Regency and West Java Province.

"This makes Garut Regency proud, LASQI Garut Regency which consists of young professionals with quite good training, God willing, will make West Java proud at the national level," he said.

The General Chairperson of the DPD LASQI Garut Regency, Iden Sambas, shared a story, where at the previous year's festival, they had succeeded in winning the title of national champion, by involving 3 people to take part in the festival in the categories of adult gambus vocalist star, teenage gambus vocalist star, and star children's lute vocalist.

"Last year, DPD LASQI Garut Regency was able to make West Java, especially Garut Regency, become a national champion," he said.

Meanwhile, this year, they sent 5 delegates to become ambassadors for West Java Province, including an additional category of religious pop vocalist stars. They hope to win national champions in all the categories they participate in. The festival will take place from November 9 to 12, 2023.

"In 2023 we are hopeful and optimistic, optimistic that we will win again as national champion to make West Java Province proud, especially Garut Regency," he said.

Iden's optimism is supported by thorough preparation from the DPD LASQI Garut Regency, with the participants continuing to learn and intensive coaching.

This festival is a prestigious event where various contingents from all provinces in Indonesia compete to win the title. Iden hopes that the Garut Regency LASQI DPD can continue to make Garut Regency proud at the national level, and invites the community and local government to provide the best prayers and support.

"I ask the community members for their prayers and support, especially to the local government, starting from the Regent, especially the related agencies, namely Disparbud, asking for their attention and asking for their help, (because) this is at the national level, making Garut Regency itself proud," he said.
