PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Regional Government (Pemda) continues to strive to improve the quality of road infrastructure to make it more comfortable and safe for the community. Through coordination between the Bandung City DPRD and the Water Resources and Highways Agency (DSDABM), various road repair and maintenance steps continue to be carried out.

In a collaborative broadcast by Radio Sonata and PR FM, Tuesday (2/18/2025), Member of Commission III of the Bandung City DPRD, Dr. Uung Tanuwidjaja said that supervision continues to be carried out to ensure that the realization of the road repair budget runs optimally.

"Currently, the realization of the road repair budget has reached 91 percent. We continue to strive to ensure that the remaining work can be completed immediately so that the benefits can be felt directly by the community," he said.

Uung continued, one of the main challenges in road repairs is the status of road ownership, which consists of national roads, provincial roads, and city roads.

"We continue to encourage coordination with the provincial and central governments so that road repairs under their authority can proceed more quickly," explained Uung.

In addition, road repairs are also carried out in stages with a routine and periodic maintenance approach.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Road and Bridge Division of the Bandung City DSDABM, Sandi Suhendar, explained that routine maintenance such as patching is carried out every year, while periodic maintenance is designed in a cycle of three to five years.

"We want to ensure that the repairs made are not only temporary, but also able to improve the quality of the road in the long term," he added.

In addition to road repairs, the Bandung City Government also continues to develop sustainable transportation solutions to reduce congestion and increase citizen mobility. Improvements to sidewalk facilities for pedestrians and rearranging the drainage system are part of this effort.

The public is also invited to participate in monitoring and reporting road conditions through the SIMKURING Application, which is an abbreviation of the UPT Activity Management Information System and Monitoring.

"Bandung residents can report infrastructure problems, including damaged or potholed roads, clogged drains, rivers or damaged sidewalks through SIMKURING. With the active role of residents, this is very important so that the repair process can run faster and more precisely," said Sandi. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Revo)
