PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) expressed its condolences for the Turangga train accident with the Bandung Raya local train which occurred on the Cicalengka-Haurpugur Station plot line, Bandung Regency, Friday (5/1/2024) morning.

"Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un, I am the Deputy Chair of the West Java DPRD, Achmad Ru'yat, and other leaders and members of the West Java DPRD express our condolences and concerns over the train collision disaster in Cicalengka," said Achmad Ru'yat, Friday (5 /1 /2024).

"We hope that the victims can be immediately treated well, that the injured victims receive good and appropriate services and treatment," he added.

The West Java DPRD asked that the Turangga train collision accident connecting Surabaya Gubeng-Bandung with the local Bandung Raya train which occurred on the Cicalengka-Haurpugur Station plot line, Bandung Regency this morning be used as an evaluation or note for PT KAI management in railway infrastructure or rail lines.

Especially in handling passenger safety, because passenger safety and the quality of the railway must be important concerns.

"Hopefully the train accident this morning will not happen again, and the cause of the accident will be known for future evaluation," he said.

It should be noted that there was a train collision accident between the Turangga train connecting Surabaya Gubeng-Bandung and the Bandung Raya Commuterline at km 181+700 of the road between Haurpugur Station-Cicalengka Station this morning.

So far, both PT KAI and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) have sent teams to prepare and launch train accident victims in Cicalengka, Bandung Regency. PT KAI together with the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) immediately investigated the cause of the accident. (no/rdp*)
