PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) held a Plenary Meeting with three strategic agendas in the Plenary Meeting Room, Jalan Sukabumi Number 30.
The first agenda is the decision-making on two Draft Regional Regulations (Raperda), namely the Raperda on the Development of Pancasila Ideology and National Insight, and the Raperda on the Implementation of Advertising. The submission of reports was carried out in writing by Pansus 2 and Pansus 3 which discussed the two Raperda.
The second agenda is the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Initial Draft of the Bandung City Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2025–2029.
The signing was carried out by the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, together with the Chairman of the DPRD and three deputy chairmen of the DPRD: Toni Wijaya, Edwin Senjaya, and Rieke Suryaningsih.
Head of Bappelitbang of Bandung City, Anton explained that the RPJMD is a description of the vision and mission of the regional head for the next five-year period which must also be in line with national and provincial planning documents.
"This RPJMD is not only a direction for development, but also a commitment to complete it within a maximum of six months after the inauguration of the regional head," he said.
In the Memorandum of Understanding document that was read, it was stated that the formulation of the vision, mission, goals and targets for the development of the City of Bandung for 2025–2029 refers to the RPJMN, RPJMD of West Java Province, RPJP of the City of Bandung, and the applicable RTRW.
The main focus is directed at fair, participatory and humane development, with the community as the center and actor of development.
The third agenda is the determination of the decision of the Bandung City DPRD regarding the DPRD's Main Ideas (Pokir) regarding the 2026 Bandung City Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD). The Pokir report is submitted in writing by the DPRD Secretary.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan in delivering his final opinion on the two draft regional regulations that have been ratified, expressed his high appreciation to all leaders and members of the Bandung City DPRD.
Farhan said that these two draft regional regulations are an important part of strengthening national character and better urban planning.
"This is a concrete form of legislative support for national values and efforts to maintain the aesthetics and economic potential of the advertising sector," he said.
He said that the RPJMD is the main direction of Bandung's development in the next five years in order to realize "Main Bandung", namely a superior, open, trustworthy, advanced and civilized Bandung.
"We must make this RPJMD a guide to answer the challenges of the city, including social inequality, potential regional conflicts such as Sukahaji and Dago Elos and organize the city better through advertising regulations and strengthening national values," said Farhan.
He also highlighted the still high rate of economic inequality in Bandung (gini ratio 0.46), which he said needed to be addressed seriously through equitable development and improving community welfare.
"The Bandung City Government is ready to synergize with the DPRD and all stakeholders to realize social justice, fair law enforcement, and inclusive economic growth," he said.
