PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - As a form of contribution to handling the issue of stunting through the TJSL (Social and Environmental Responsibility) program, PT PLN West Java Distribution Main Unit (UID) launched or kicked off the "Great Nutrition Program" at the Malati Village Office, District. Naringgul on Saturday (25/11/2023) and at the Kertajadi Village Office, Kec. Cidaun on Sunday (26/11/2023).

General Manager of PT PLN West Java Main Distribution Unit Susiana Mutia said that apart from running the main business of distributing reliable and quality electricity, PLN is also committed to providing a direct and sustainable development impact in the community through the TJSL program in the health sector.

"With the Great Nutrition program, it is hoped that public understanding regarding children's growth and development patterns, especially nutritious food patterns, will increase. "Apart from that, of course to support the second number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), zero hunger or no hunger," said Susiana.

Manager of PLN UP3 Cianjur, Agus Tasya said that PLN is a community development partner in supporting the efforts of the Government and various parties to overcome this stunting problem.

"Hopefully the positive energy that PLN produces can be a force that encourages positive change in society, especially in terms of improving community nutrition. "I invite us all to unite in the problem of handling stunting," said Agus.

Dwi Yogo, Project Manager for the Great Nutrition program from the Mitra Insan Sejahtera Cianjur Foundation, explained that there are three subprograms in the Great Nutrition program. First, a nutritional care package in the form of distributing food ingredients, especially protein sources, every two weeks for 18 times to 200 beneficiaries. Second, nutrition education as a medium-scale coaching activity every 6-8 months to upgrade the knowledge of beneficiary mothers about nutrition and parenting patterns. Third, renovation of the selected osyandu.

"With this Great Nutrition program, it is hoped that the quantity and quality of food intake of beneficiaries will increase, especially protein sources," he hoped.

Dwi added, this Great Nutrition Program is proof that PLN is not only present in homes through the electricity network, but is also present through its social care in the context of the issue of eradicating stunting.

Meanwhile, Head of the Naringgul Subdistrict Stunting Reduction Team, Ijuh Sugandi, who also serves as Naringgul Subdistrict Head, emphasized that his party is concerned about reducing stunting.

"We hope that this Great Nutrition program can reduce stunting rates in the area," he said.

Siti Fitriani, representing the Head of the Cidaun Community Health Center, stated that the Indonesian Government is currently preparing a golden generation with potential intelligence to welcome the 2045 demographic bonus. On the other hand, according to Siti, the effects of stunting are extraordinary because it can hinder children's intelligence and risk metabolic disorders in the future. thus causing degenerative diseases.

"Handling stunting cannot only be done by the Community Health Center alone but requires cross-sector collaboration," said Siti.
