Supporting the Best Service, KAI Daop 2 Bandung Provides 24 Locomotives

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Kereta Api Indonesia Regional Operations (Daop) 2 Bandung is committed to providing the best service for customers by providing all facilities, including locomotives, trains, and carriages to serve customers.

In the Daop 2 Bandung area, there are 24 reliable locomotives ready to support all train journeys, both passenger and freight transport.

Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Ayep Hanapi said that before the locomotive is used, it must be inspected and maintained to ensure the safety, smoothness and punctuality of the train journey.

"PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung has prepared a reliable and operational fleet of both locomotives and trains. For locomotives, Daop 2 Bandung has prepared 10 CC 201 series locomotives, 3 CC 203 series locomotives, and 11 CC 206 series locomotives. Meanwhile, for trains, it has prepared 225 trains and 4 KRDE trainsets," said Ayep, Wednesday (8/10/2024).

To maintain the reliable performance of the locomotive facilities, periodic maintenance is carried out based on the service life including Daily Check, 1 Month Maintenance (P1), 3 Month Maintenance (P3), 6 Month Maintenance (P6), 12 Month Maintenance (P12) which is carried out at the Bandung Locomotive Depot, while the 24 Month maintenance is carried out at the Yogyakarta Locomotive Service Center.

"This maintenance covers various technical aspects, starting from checking the engine, brake system, mechanical system, to electricity. All are done very carefully to ensure the locomotive's performance remains prime and can provide comfortable, safe, and timely services for passengers," explained Ayep.

In addition, the facilities team at Daop 2 Bandung continues to monitor the performance of each locomotive by conducting regular evaluations, so that if there are components that need to be replaced or repaired, action can be taken immediately to avoid operational disruptions.

With the availability of 24 locomotives that are continuously optimally maintained, Daop 2 Bandung hopes to support the needs of people's travel, especially during peak times such as national holidays or homecoming seasons. In addition, this regular maintenance is also expected to extend the service life of the locomotive, making it more efficient and economical in the long term.

"We are committed to continuously improving services for passengers by ensuring that the locomotives we operate are always in prime condition. Passenger trust is our top priority," added Ayep.

KAI Daop 2 Bandung remains committed to maintaining the safety of train travel and serving the public as best as possible.

"We also invite all customers to remain disciplined in complying with safety rules and procedures when using train services, for the sake of mutual comfort and safety," concluded Ayep.
