PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The optimization process at Husein Sastranegara Airport continues to show positive progress. PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) ensures that all operational preparations are proceeding according to schedule, ensuring the airport is ready to resume serving jet flights in the near future.

In an official statement, Corporate Secretary Group Head of InJourney Airports, Arie Ahsanurrohim, said that coordination with all stakeholders is ongoing to ensure that all operational aspects meet the standards set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation.

Along with this operational readiness, airline interest in returning to serve flights to and from Husein Sastranegara Airport also continues to grow.

To date, six airlines have submitted official applications to operate.

The airlines are Citilink with routes to Kualanamu, Denpasar, and Surabaya; Super Air Jet to Kualanamu, Denpasar, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Batam, Padang, Balikpapan, and Pontianak; Garuda Indonesia to Denpasar; TransNusa to Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Lampung; Scoot to Singapore; and Wings Air to Lampung and Palembang.

"InJourney Airports has submitted its operational and service plans at Husein Sastranegara Airport to airlines. In line with this, six airlines have officially applied to operate at Husein Sastranegara Airport," Arie said.

Furthermore, InJourney Airports will arrange the availability of flight time slots so that all flight requests can be accommodated according to airport capacity.

The return of jet flights to Husein Sastranegara Airport is expected to further strengthen connectivity between Bandung City and West Java, while also encouraging growth in the tourism, trade, investment, and regional economic sectors.

"We hope that Husein Sastranegara Airport's flight connectivity can fully support economic and tourism growth in West Java, and Bandung City in particular," said Arie.

In terms of safety, Husein Sastranegara Airport has prepared Foam Tender standby vehicles and equipped them with Category 7 Aviation Accident Relief and Fire Fighting (PKP-PK) supporting facilities.

Meanwhile, in terms of security, Screening Check Point (SCP) facilities have been improved, including x-ray machines, walkthrough metal detectors (WMTD), and handheld metal detectors (HHTD).

In addition, improvements to airside infrastructure are also being made through strengthening the carrying capacity of runways, taxiways, and aprons.
