PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan will take firm steps in accordance with applicable regulations and coordinate with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) to follow up on the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) phenomenon in West Java.

Especially if there are state civil servants (ASN) who are proven to be LGBT.

He conveyed this to the media crew after attending the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026 at the Pullman Hotel, Bandung City, Thursday (9/7/2026).

"I have said several times that we, the West Java Provincial Government, are fighting against LGBT in the West Java region," he stressed.

Erwan emphasized that sanctions against ASN who are LGBT will refer to the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.

"If it's in accordance with the law, the most severe sanction is dismissal. And if anyone commits a crime, we'll hand it over to law enforcement," he stressed.

Erwan also invited the public to play an active role by reporting to the authorities if they find any suspected violations of the law.

"I hope the public will provide accurate reports, both to the police and to us, so we can take immediate action within our authority," he said.
