PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The KM 149 Gedebage Toll Exit, which is an important part of connectivity in East Bandung, is intended to be reopened at the end of December 2024.
It is hoped that it will smooth traffic flow during the peak holiday season of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025.
Currently, the DKI Jakarta-West Java National Road Implementation Center is accelerating the process of repairing supporting access and adding supporting facilities at the toll gate.
Acting Mayor of Bandung, A. Koswara, expressed his full support for the reopening of this toll gate.
According to him, the KM 149 Gedebage Toll Exit will be a strategic access to various important locations in East Bandung, such as the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium, Al Jabbar Grand Mosque, Summarecon business area, and Whoosh Tegalluar Fast Train Station.
"We are working with the PUPR Ministry, the West Java Provincial Government, Jasa Marga, and various related parties to ensure that this project is completed on time. The presence of the 149 Gedebage Toll Exit will accelerate public mobility, smooth traffic, and encourage economic growth in the East Bandung area," said A. Koswara at the Pendopo Kota Bandung (22/9/2024).
In addition to the opening of Toll Exit 149, the Bandung City Government also fully supports the construction of the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BIUTR), which has been designated as a National Strategic Project (PSN).
The 27.3 kilometer long BIUTR will connect the Pasteur toll road to Cileunyi, passing through a number of densely populated areas such as Jalan PHH Mustofa and Jalan AH Nasution.
"The BIUTR project will have a major impact on the city of Bandung, especially in overcoming traffic jams and improving accessibility between regions. We are committed to continuing to oversee this project until completion, so that it can provide optimal benefits to the community," explained Koswara.
Priority Projects of Bandung City Government
In his term of only five months, Koswara will focus on completing a number of priority infrastructure projects.
In addition to the KM 149 Gedebage Toll Exit and BIUTR, the Bandung City Government also supports the reactivation of the Ciroyom Flyover, which is part of the Ministry of Transportation's PSN. In addition, preparations for the construction of the Bandung Raya Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) which will begin in 2025 are also a major concern.
Koswara said that these infrastructure initiatives aim to improve the quality of life of the people of Bandung. The opening of the KM 149 Gedebage Toll Exit and the BIUTR project are expected to accelerate transportation access, improve connectivity between regions, and encourage more equitable economic growth.
"All these projects are part of our long-term vision to make Bandung a modern and livable city. I hope that with strong cross-agency cooperation, we can realize a better city for all," said Koswara.
With the high spirit of the Bandung City Government and support from various parties, the community hopes that a major transformation will soon be realized, especially in the East Bandung area. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
