PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Muhammad Farhan and Erwin were officially inaugurated as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandung for the 2025-2030 period by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, in a ceremony at the State Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, February 20, 2025.

This inauguration is part of a historic ceremony, as many as 961 regional heads from the simultaneous regional elections were inaugurated simultaneously.

Before the inauguration, Farhan and Erwin wore white Ceremonial Uniforms (PDUB) and followed the procession from the National Monument (Monas) to the State Palace. The procession took place solemnly accompanied by a marching band.

The inauguration began at exactly 10:00 WIB with the reading of the script for the appointment of the pair Farhan and Erwin as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandung. After that, they took the oath of office led by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, followed by the pinning of the insignia.

In his remarks, President Prabowo congratulated the regional heads who were inaugurated and emphasized the importance of the mandate given by the people.

"This is a historic moment, the first time in the history of the Republic of Indonesia that 961 regional heads were inaugurated simultaneously at the State Palace by the Head of State," said Prabowo.

He also reminded that the elected regional heads are servants of the people.

“You must defend the interests of the people, safeguard the interests of the people, and fight for the people. "That is our main task," he stressed.

After the inauguration, Farhan and Erwin are scheduled to return to Bandung City using the Whoosh fast train.

Upon arrival in Bandung, they will attend the handover ceremony (Sertijab) from the Acting Mayor of Bandung, A. Koswara, which will take place at Bandung City Hall at around 15.30 WIB.

Not long after the handover, Farhan and Erwin will immediately lead the first Leadership Meeting with all heads of regional apparatus and sub-district heads throughout Bandung City. This agenda is their first step in running the government and arranging the work program for the next five years.

As the closing of the series of activities on the first day of office, Farhan and Erwin will attend the Plenary Meeting of the Bandung City DPRD, where Farhan will deliver his first speech as Mayor of Bandung. The event will end with a media doorstop session to give a statement to the public.

With a busy agenda since day one, Farhan and Erwin's leadership is expected to bring positive changes to the City of Bandung in the next five years.
