Farhan Ensures Bandung City Upholds Religious Values

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said, as a city that upholds religious values, the Bandung City Government always supports the construction of representative places of worship for the community.

"The existence of a mosque is not just a physical building, but also as a center of Islamic civilization, a place where we educate the younger generation to become people with noble morals and knowledge," said Farhan when inaugurating the Al Ikhlash Mosque, Perumnas Sadang Serang, Coblong District, Saturday (3/29/2025).

Farhan hopes that the presence of worship facilities can be utilized by the local community to increase religious values.

"This can be beneficial for the community. Utilization as a house of worship, of course this is followed by an effort to meet the regulations," he said.

Therefore, he added, he invited all residents to make the Al-Ikhlash mosque an active place with various religious, social and educational activities.

​"This mosque must be a place that unites the people, a place where we gain religious knowledge and strengthen the values ​​of Islamic brotherhood," he explained.

​Farhan added that in this modern era, we face various challenges. Both in social, economic, and moral life.

"This mosque must be a place that provides solutions to various problems of the people. The mosque must be active in providing guidance to children, teenagers, and families to stay on the path that is pleasing to Allah SWT," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the DKM Al Ikhlash Mosque, Usep Hidayat, said that the construction of this mosque took three years.

"The construction process took three years, the first stone was laid in 2020 by the Chairman of the Bandung City MUI, Miftah Faridl. Thank God it was completed on January 23, 2025," he said.

Usep said that currently it is still in the stage of arranging the mosque's functional space. In the future, it will be more organized and neat.

"We are still in the process of arranging the functional space to be utilized optimally. God willing, around 500 worshipers can utilize this mosque," he said. (Bandung City Government Public Relations/rka)
